Munsyari

Munsyari is the name of a town and a tehsil in the Pithoragarh District in the hill-state of Uttarakhand, India.

It lies at the base of the great Himalayan mountain range, at an elevation of about 2,200 m (7,200 ft)[1], and is a starting point of various treks into the interior of the range.

Its name refers to a 'place with snow'. Situated on the banks of Goriganga river, it is a fast growing tourist destination, and mountaineers, glacier enthusiasts, high altitude trekkers and nature lovers commonly use it as their hub or base camp. Munsiyari also falls on the ancient salt route from Tibet and is at the entrance of the Johar Valley, which extends along the path of the Goriganga River to its source at the Milam Glacier. It is inhabited mainly by the Shauka people. The town is surrounded by snow capped peaks, with a key attraction being the trekking route to Khalia Top.

Didihat

Didihat is a deep Himalayan tourist destination situated 54 km from Pithoragarh. The small hilly town is full of pure natural beauty with lush green flora at an altitude of 1725 m. Didihat is situated on the hill top plain of 'Digtarh' and river Charamgad or Bhadigad streaming below. Below the town there is a fertile 'Haat valley'. In Didihat the famous temple (mandir) is known as Sirakot (Malaynath Mandir) of Lord Shiva (Bholenath). The another famous mandir is situated in the top hill of the nanpaupu village is well known as dechula.

About 53km from didihat, the small hilly town Berinag is well known for its pure natural beauty. Berinag is well known for its nag mandirs. One small tea garden also there. The one of the most famous gufa is known as "Pataal Bhuwneshwar", this is related to "Pandavas" dwaparyug.Didihat is under pithoragarh district in uttarakhand.

Narayan Ashram was instituted by Narayan Swami in 1936. Today, the Ashram has converted into an important socio- educational institution and attracts many scholars and Himalayan wilderness lovers from all over the country.

Narayan Ashram is situated at at an elevation of 2734 mts. above sea level. It can be reached from Pithoragarh via Ogla(44 from Pithoragarh), Jauljibi(77), Dharchula(94), Tawaghat (108). Tawaghat is the place where Dhauliganga and Kaliganga meet.
